FBG Achieves ISSA CIMS-GB Certification

February 27, 2016

ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, announced today that FBG Service Corporation achieved ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS-GB) certification.

Compliance with the standard demonstrates that a cleaning organization has the systems in place to deliver consistent, professional services designed to meet customers’ needs and expectations. CIMS-GB certification is required in many cleaning service bid specifications as customers look for an effective way to identify high-quality providers that are committed to customer satisfaction.

“This certification reflects our commitment to clean for health. We couldn’t be more proud of our teams that have worked diligently to achieve this certification for FBG. It proves our systems and approaches to providing a clean and healthy environment for our customers meet the industry’s highest quality standards,” says Terri Gogetap, President, FBG Service Corporation.

Independent, accredited assessors verify CIMS-GB certified firms meet the industry standard for:

  • Quality systems
  • Service delivery
  • Human resources
  • Health, safety, and environmental stewardship
  • Management commitment

“As part of the certification process, the assessor conducted onsite reviews of our systems, processes, and documentation,” explains Barbara Luna, Sustainability and Marketing Director, of FBG. “In addition, the assessor visited randomly selected customers to ensure that our activities are consistent with our documented systems and processes. It was a challenging but ultimately gratifying experience.”

About CIMS
CIMS sets forth a management framework designed to assist building service contractors and in-house cleaning departments to develop and maintain quality, customer-focused organizations. The standard is nonprescriptive, meaning that each organization has the flexibility to choose the most effective ways in which to meet its requirements. CIMS was created through a true consensus-based process that brought together representatives of the cleaning, facilities management, and purchasing communities. ISSA speaks at numerous facility management and purchasing industry events throughout the year to outline the value of working with CIMS certified cleaning companies as well as certifying in-house operations.
