ESOP

FBG’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan is designed to provide qualified employees with retirement, death and disability benefits. And the good news is that the Plan is 100% funded by FBG and annual contributions are made by the company. The actual amount depends on profitability and we have averaged over 10%. The plan has a seven-year vesting schedule, so anyone leaving the company before becoming fully vested forfeits a portion of his or her retirement fund. The numbers can be substantial—in six years employees can accrue between 60% and 90% of their annual income.

Risk?
Is the ESOP risky? In one sense, it is risk-free since the company makes all the ESOP contributions. Most investment advisors do believe that an ESOP is a risky retirement plan because all of the plan assets are invested in one stock. Experts recommend that you contribute to an Individual Retirement Account to diversify your retirement portfolio. Your ESOP participation may affect your ability to deduct your IRA contributions. Consult your tax advisor.

Distribution
Account balances less than $5,000 at the point distribution begins are paid out in one lump sum. Balances greater than $5,000 are distributed over a 5-year period.

FBG Screening Process
Thorough screening is done at the conditional hiring process for all potential employees. The process involves background checks including employment history, I-9 Verification and a complete five-panel drug screening. Candidates must pass all areas before joining the FBG team. Custom screening is additionally performed to include any requirements dictated by the customer. This is done both prior to joining FBG for new candidates and throughout the course of employment in accordance with client requirements.
